The unique 'Curve' Fibreglass roof:
Each garden room gets a unique double layer of long lasting weatherproof fibreglass (GRP) on the entire roof. Installed on-site using the best roofing grade resins and glass fibre matting to give a 20year guarantee. Although, fibreglass has proven to last many times longer than this; it's what super yachts are made with! It will out perform virtually any other roofing material which is why its fast becoming the roofing material of choice for any flat roof. We also use it to create the vital unique curve over the rear of the garden room. It forms a very strong and attractive feature, especially as the final topcoat can be virtually any colour. It's your choice!
14mm engineered real wood flooring
Unlike most other garden room builders who get away with cheap, thin MDF laminate flooring, Curve uses top quality 14mm engineered floor boards that have at least a 3mm real solid hardwood layer bonded to top quality plywood. These interlocking boards are glued down over the screeded underfloor heating to give a far superior, solid feel that is better than most home installations. You can choose various finishes and colours from natural honey coloured oak, whitened or grey oak through to a dark stained finish.
However here at Curve, we always like to be a little different; so you could also choose to have virtually any style of tiles for your floor making a really robust and unique feature. We're always open to suggestions.
Living Sedum roof
Why not blend your already beautiful room into the garden further and also keep any overlooking neighbours happy by topping it off with a beautiful, forever colour changing sedum roof. Installed fully grown, it adds instant natural colour that changes with the seasons. It requires almost no maintenance or cutting and gives the added benefit of extra insulation to retain the heat generated from the underfloor heating.
Skylights
Skylights are a fabulous way to visually open the roof to the sky. They allow light to flood the room, way more than any vertically mounted window. At Curve we install triple glazed self cleaning units ensuring minimal heat loss. Great at night, giving a view of the stars. They represent huge gains for a little extra cost.
Double Glazed Windows
At Curve garden rooms, we are able to offer you any size windows in any position because of our truly bespoke approach. Full height windows are a particularly stylish look, following the tall sleek lines of the western red cedar. Wherever you choose to put them, they will be top spec 24mm argon filled toughened soft coat units to give maximum insulation benefit. These will be installed into bespoke painted wooden frames and beading or using varnished oak beadings.
Doors
One of the most vital features of the design of your garden room will be your choice of doors. They need to be practical for entry and exit while being an appropriate size for the design. They can be any style; patio, french, pocket or bi-fold. Then it's your choice between timber, UPVC or aluminium and finished in your choice of colour. All will have high spec double gazing ensuring maximum heat retention while flooding the room with light.
Decking
We always suggest at least a small area of decking around your Curve garden room. This visually sites the room in the garden better and gives a clean area to enter the room. We always recommend high quality hardwood or a composite material. This not also looks so much better than any softwood decking but lasts so much longer with much less maintenance such as re-oiling. It is a considerable upgrade from softwood but is standard with a Curve garden room.
Underfloor heating
A vital feature of all Curve garden rooms is the integral electric underfloor heating system. A good quality, high 200w per m2 electric powered underfloor heating mat is used to give a gentle but effective heat source evenly spread across the entire floor. It's controlled by a touchscreen WiFi connected thermostat to keep the room at any programmed temperature.
